Kim + Scott (and Ava) - Lifestyle Portraits

Kim and Scott, and their pup Ava, live in an absolutely beautiful home full of light and love.

That was the feeling that I got when I walked in to do their little family session. Kim said that they wanted to document their life now, as is, before moving into the next phase of growing their family by adding in a little adorable munchkin. I'm not sure they've made it to the 'trying' phase yet, or maybe they have; in either case, I was so excited to be the one who was getting to give them pictures of these everyday moments.

I really love lifestyle photography and so does Kim. That combination is like toast and Nutella. And yields some really beautiful, natural pictures.

These are some of my favorites. Especially the one of Kim with her Harry Potter book, and Scott with The Gunslinger from The Dark Tower series. Being a major bookworm, I absolutely loved taking that picture. Two of my favorite book series, that I've read multiple times, and here they are in one picture with two very awesome people. That's why I love what I do.

A big THANK YOU to Kim, Scott and Ava for allowing me a glimpse into their life to capture some of their magic. You guys have a beautiful home full of love, and a beautiful little family.

Mathes Family : Portraits

I met Matt in high school, and I remember him being this adorable little boy who was in choir and acted in the school musicals. He was sweet as pie, too.

So it is entirely appropriate that he married a little lady who is also sweet as pie, and together they made THE MOST ADORABLE MUNCHKIN EVER. And since I'm a mom, and think my kids are awfully darned cute, that is saying a LOT. Seriously. Emerson is so cute I couldn't stand it. It's a good thing he's not mine, because he'd run the house. I'd give him everything he wanted; all he'd have to do is turn those green eyes on me and the world would be his.

We went to Faust Park and enjoyed The Butterfly House, the carousel and even hung out in the rain to get some pictures in at the playground. It was a ton of fun and little E was just hilarious the entire time, even when he was trying to be cranky with us all. I say 'trying' because it really did seem like an act. And even THAT was cute!

Hope you enjoy the pictures! Happy Holidays!

Simms Family : Portraits

I had the pleasure to photograph my brother, his beautiful wife, and my two little nephews last weekend. These two little stinkers are so much fun! Both of them have such unique and quirky little personalities. Today is my brother and sister-in-law's 6th anniversary, so I thought it would be appropriate that we celebrated the day that they said 'I Do' and became a family with their portraits.

Melle is pregnant as well, so I am thrilled to be an aunt for the third time! I can't wait to find out what kind of little munchkin is going to be popping out of her tummy next summer - should I be buying more blue, or do I finally get to buy some pink???

Happy Anniversary, Shaun and Melle, and thank you so much for letting me spend some time with you guys and take some pictures! xo Kiss my nephews for me!

I love this picture of Caleb!

He was telling Aunt Samie what a dinosaur says. He LOVES dinosaurs.
