A Busy, Busy Weekend

Intermittent sunshine, a temperature that hovered in the mid-70's... this weekend could not have been more beautiful for my 4 Engagement Sessions! Thank goodness the weather people were wrong, and the rain went around us until last night!

Let me rewind a bit and fill in a few details (each of these couples will get their own blogs, but for now...):

Friday~~~
I met Nicki and Todd at Shaw's Nature Reserve in Gray Summit. Both of them are gorgeous and I couldn't wait to get going. I was so excited for the backdrop of autumn, even though it has been so dry and the leaves aren't as ripe as they usually are this time of year. We got a ton of beautiful shots - I am seriously considering a few of theirs some of my best work so far.
I really love the light in this shot.

Saturday~~~
I met Aubrey and Todd at Busch Stadium - the poor kids had to drive all the way from Troy, after issues with the babysitter and both Aubrey and their little daughter Reese being sick... I thought Aubrey looked beautiful despite her not feeling well. She didn't complain once, even with all the walking we did and her in at least 3-inch heels! These two were into the urban look and Aubrey really wanted some 'serious black and whites' - I relished the opportunity to shoot some!

Aubrey looks sexy!

After Aubrey and Todd were finished with me, they kindly dropped me off at Tigin to meet Jessica and Randy, who I had scheduled a session with right after Aubrey and Todd's. I ate the best cheesesteak ever, then we all walked over to Busch Stadium and - get this! - we got to go down on the warning track and inside the stadium for pictures! Here's me, so excited to be down there (and as you can see, I wasn't really expecting the camera to be turned on me - I looked a hot mess! Also - sorry for the background being a little blown out and my rear end looking so huge... I wasn't manning the camera! :P ).

When I get excited, my arms just do that. Seriously. You think this business name has no meaning? LOL
Randy, Jessica and I did photos all around the stands, dug out, etc., then we walked back to their car and drove over to Soulard. Once we were there, we just walked around and took pictures wherever we thought looked pretty good. Randy and Jessica are so funny and I had a great time with them. I went to high school with Jessica, and being around her again was too fun. I had missed my friend. Oh... did I mention that Randy has a 2008 Mustang? Hmmm... you cannot imagine how those two made my entire day. First, I got to be down in the dirt at Busch Stadium, THEN I got to ride in my dream car. And don't give me crap about how lame it is that I love Mustangs, ok - trust me, I know there are cooler cars to trigger your salivary glands. I also love THIS CAR. <--Click that. mmmhhmm. But I love Mustangs because they are actually attainable...unlike the Vanquish.  Jessica and I chatted and repeated constantly how much we love Soulard and would love to live down there. Randy put up with us, laughed at the appropriate moments, and teased Jessica. It was a great afternoon.

Here's those two kids:

Down in the Cardinals dug out!

I finished up Saturday evening at Jeremy's grandparent's house, having a fabulous dinner with fabulous people, and of course showing off the pictures of myself at Busch Stadium! Margaritas were involved. Blue ones!

Sunday~~~
First off, the weather Sunday morning was amazing! Overcast, which means perfect light, and it was about 75 or so degrees, a little balmy but also a little breezy. Why is a little breezy good? I love it when girls have a little movement in their hair in pictures. I'm not talking about gusting wind, here; just a slight play and tease, just the slightest suggestion of movement. Jacquelyn and Josh met me at Laumeier Sculpture Park, and I swear I couldn't have been happier. Laumeier is my most favorite, favorite place in the whole world. And the two of them are GORGEOUS. She's a green-eyed, freckled, natural ginger and he has bright blue eyes contrasted with dark hair and lashes... oh my. They are beautiful together - but also, they are incredibly fun! I'm SO looking forward to their wedding - cupcakes and pinwheels? Oh YES! I'm so excited about the details I've heard about so far!

Jackie shows off her black diamond!

And that, aside from eating myself into a larger dress size and watching a lot of Dexter with my honey, was my weekend. Watch for individual blog posts for each couple and MORE PICTURES the rest of the week! xo
