Nicki and Todd's Engagement Session

I met Nicki and Todd at Shaw's Nature Reserve in Gray Summit for their Engagement Session. The weather could not have possibly been nicer - in my opinion, it was perfect. I'd say around 75-ish, slight breeze, warm, golden, evening sunlight. Just perfect.

Nicki had bought new shoes, a necklace and her very adorable sweater (it had buttons on the collar, and I love buttons!) for the occasion, and Todd had cleaned up his work boots that I thought looked too fashionable to be work boots. Nicki was giggly but I love that, because she also looked so gorgeous and so natural.

These two made my job so easy. I barely had to do any directing at all. I asked where they would like pictures at, they told me, and we went. The time just flew by and before I knew it, we had a ton of great pictures of these two.

One of these photos is my favorite OF ALL TIME - of them sitting on the bench with the water behind them... I'll post it below the slideshow. I can't say why I love it so much exactly... the mood, the setting, the look they have, the light... I don't know. But I love it. And what's great is that I will never be able to reproduce that shot the same way - it is so special because of Nicki and Todd, and their personality seeping into the picture.
