I have the good fortune of being related to this fine young woman through marriage - she is my step-sister. It was such an honor to be involved as the photographer of choice (or at least the last resort LOL) to do portraits for my sis and, soon, little Luke. As long as she and John stick with that name.
Amanda was a trooper through a cumbersome lighting arrangement, and waited patiently while I labored through setting up. I had borrowed lighting from my boss (not me, my OTHER boss), but had forgotten the hot shoe fitting for the sync cord. So about a half hour later, we were standing around scratching our heads and I pretty much said screw it, we'll use what we got. Which wasn't much; a horrendous flash unit with a very stupid-looking diffuser attached, and the strobe flashes on, but not flashing. That equates to one very harsh camera flash in an otherwise VERY dim basement. No good.
Fortunately, we worked it out, and I got these great shots of her anyway. Many thanks to my parents for the basement space, and to Amanda for your patience and for giving me the opportunity to get some sweet maternity pictures of you! xo
