Ashlie and Chris' Wedding

Yesterday I had the pleasure and honor to photograph Ashlie and Chris' big day! Ashlie really wanted a wedding that had unique elements, and right off the bat I was excited to see those details in her RED DRESS! She looked absolutely gorgeous, and Chris looked very handsome in his suit and matching red tie. Her white flowers were a stark and gorgeous contrast and the white was a reminder that this was, indeed, a wedding.

We talked on the phone several times throughout the morning, because we had planned to do pictures outside in downtown St. Charles. However, due to the rain, we decided to put off the photo shoot until a later date. I know Ashlie was disappointed.

However, we were blessed enough to get clear, sunny skies after all and were able to meet an hour before the ceremony and get some shots in. It was muggy and hot, but both the gorgeous bride and handsome groom were troopers, and we managed to get some beautiful pictures of them.

The ceremony was at the gorgeous venue in historic St. Charles, The Conservatory. This greenhouse-turned-wedding site hosts stunning white floral arrangements to accommodate any bridal accent colors. Drapes of gauzy silver-white fabric, hanging flowers and greenery adorn the glass ceiling and huge standing candelabras frame the front, where the happy couple stands reverently in front of their guests to be wed. They have an outdoor garden and terrace area for photos, with charming brick pavers. Simply gorgeous, and Ashlie's beautiful red dress was a stunning splash of color against the dramatic and utterly romantic backdrop.

The reception dinner was at Bristol Seafood Bar and Grill. The environment was relaxed and the food so delicious, and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. I felt so fortunate to be there sharing and documenting their lovely wedding day.

HUGE thanks to Ashlie and Chris, and many congratulations on the combining of your beautiful families, and on starting your own.
