(Also) yesterday I met with my friend Tiffany and her family for lunch and to drop off her print order. And I didn't want to let the prints go. Now what am I going to do with almost $600 worth of pictures of Tiffany's family? I really do not know. But all the same, they were so pretty, and as thrilled as I was to give them to her, there was that tender pinch and subsequent ache that comes when you give a little nugget of yourself away. Tremendous, achy joy.
I get attached to things. My cameras, for example, all have names. My Canon point and shoot is Ruby, my D90 is Mira, and my D700 is Tomi. My car has a name too - she's Keiko.
This is not just a career for me. It's my art, and my passion. I put heart and soul into it, and so it feels like personal gifts from me to you. And, I'm positive - that's a good thing. A GREAT thing.
What you do is art, and you are wonderful at it!!! You don't take pictures, you capture moments...and those captured moments become fantastic memories each time I look at our picutres.
